When I started thinking about CRITI, I didn't begin with "what EdTech product can I build?" I began by asking: what is learning, really? Why do students forget? Why do they lose direction? Why does a 16-year-old who studies for 10 hours a day still not know why they're doing it?
The answers led me to a disturbing truth. India's education system was designed for the industrial age — to produce obedient workers who could follow instructions. It was not designed to develop thinkers, to connect knowledge to meaning, or to build the kind of intrinsic motivation that actually lasts.
CRITI exists to fix this. Not with a better app. Not with more content. With a fundamentally different system — one built from the first principles of how the human brain actually learns, retains, and finds meaning.
I have been obsessive about one thing: that a student in a village in Bihar with no internet and no qualified teacher should have access to the same quality of learning as a student in an expensive coaching centre in Kota. Not a "lite" version. The full thing. The real thing.
